1. Consonance: the repetition of consonant sounds in words that are close together in a sentence. It can be at the beginning, middle and end of the words.
Example: Daddy’s plaid corduroy sweater,
Alliteration: The repetition of CONSONANT sounds at the beginning of words in a line or lines.
Ex: Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
2. Assonance: The repetition of VOWEL sounds in words in a line or lines.
Ex: How Now Brown Cow.
3. Personification: Giving human qualities to a non-human thing.
Ex: The sun smiled down on the earth.
