Day 85

Objective:  The students will finish the District Writing Assessment with a passing score of 4 or above.

1.  Roll in GC

2.  Complete essay.  Remember to use integrated quotes properly and to punctuate titles of lit how I taught you.  These are the simple things that you can do to show that you have learned this year.  And it makes me feel happy!   😎

3.  If you finish early, you have have an outside book that needs to be CLOSE READ and CLOSE READ well!

Day 82

Objective:  The students will write a passing paper for the district mandated essay.

1.  Roll in GC

2.  Make sure that your "Theme" poem is turned in.  I can't wait to read those.  Not like how I hate to grade the next thing that I have to assign...

3.  The District Writing Test:  In GC.  This is due on Friday by NOON.  If it's late I will not be able to grade it.  You have a time limit on it that the district has mandated.

Sorry to have to give this to you.  I tried my best to show that we have done probably more writing than other classes, but NO GO!  We have to do it.  I have to grade it... or I will get reprimanded.

So you have all week to do this.  You still must be in class if you finish early (Hailey H.  :)

 Objective:  The students will discuss Theme for English B and then they will write their own "theme" poem for their life.

Objective:  The students will complete a Writing Practice and double check their Aeries grade to be sure that it is correct for third quarter report card.

Day 80

Objective:  The students will read and analyze one of my favorite poems then create a group Google Slide presentation to share with the class.

2.  WP Number 6

3.  "Theme for English B" group activity (or alone, whatever you want to do).  Make sure that each group member turn it in to GC so that I can grade it and give points.

Day 79

 

Objective:  The students will complete their character and exposition mental analysis of novel, paying special attention to the type of conflict that is presented and how the story's setting may affect it.

1.  Roll in GC

2.  Assignment explanation.

3.  Complete the assignment.  Stay on task the entire class.  I will call you all back with 10 minutes left to discuss our progress of the assignment.

Day 78

Objective:  The students will look at two paragraphs written in AP Style.

1.  Roll in GC

2.  Two samples of student writing.

3.  Outside Reading Requirement.  May 7 by 3 pm.  Again, if it is late, I will not grade it.  650 points to your grade.  I think we will be back in school by then, so CLOSE READ it well!  I will be hard this time.
