Book Report Day

Objective:  The students will turn in their book analysis and pass the oral question.

1.  Put book and report on desk and be ready to be called up.

Here is what you need to know for the final:  Theme, unsupported generalization, concrete evidence/details, sensory language, how to use a semi colon, parallel structure, MLA header, MLA spacing, fallacy or faulty reasoning, and remember that some questions can have more than one correct answer.

Final Preparation:  How it affects your grade:  Overall Grade:  You will know it on the day of the final.

A= +3%
B= +1%
C= stays the same
D= -1%
F= -3%

Remember, it is due on Friday.  With the Book.  Printed.  In Class.  NO LATE PAPERS!  Make sure you read the whole book.  Don't skim.  Don't skip chapters.  Don't only use SparkNotes, Schmoop, or whatever.

Hope you had a nice break! Mine was until I read your book reports!

Objective:  The students will see their book reports and know what they need to do on the next one that is due January 19th. 

1.  Get your book reports from the back and your graded CD. 

2.  When called, tell me what your CD grade is.

3.  Discuss the upcoming book report that is due January 19th.  Remember.  There will be no late papers accepted.

Now everyone get on Aeries.  See what your grade will be in the class if you do not complete your book report on time with all close reading done.  Remember.  It is worth 650 points to your grade!
