Everyday Use
An
inference is an intelligent guess based on evidence in a story and on what you
already know. When making inferences about characters’ readers base many
guesses on what characters say and do. In the short story Everyday Use
readers find out what type of person Maggie is through the things that she has done and the things that
she says.
