IAB Testing Day

Objective:  The students will try to do their best on this test that will give teachers data about how they are doing in literature.

1.  Get a chromebook.  DO NOT LOG IN!!!

2.  Wiat for me to walk you through the test process.

3.  We have only ONE DAY for this, so make sure that you finish!

4.  Read Chapter 37.  You may want to look up what insider trading is.  It will help you understand how Danglars became a rich man.  It's illegal.  Martha Stewart went to prison because of it.

How is your creativity flowing today?

Objective:  The students will complete their character sketch.

1.  Complete Direct to Indirect writing.

Be sure that you have all three methods of Indirect Characterization.  Tomorrow when you turn in your typed and printed paper, you will be asked to highlight each one and label. 

2.  Read Chapters 35 and 36 for tomorrow.

Creative Writing... How Do You Like Doing It?

Objective:  The students will create a character sketch using all the methods of Indirect Characterization.

Objective:  The students will discuss the developments in Monte Cristo over Chapters 31-32.

1.  Discuss Chapters... If three people can't answer discussion questions, we will have to have a quiz.

2.  Discuss study guide questions.

3.  Discuss "Two Kinds" assignment.

4.  Read Chapters 33-34.  If you are smart, this will be done now so that you have no homework... and I won't have to give busy work to you...

Objective:  The students will see an example of what they will do on the Monte Cristo Song List CD Case Project.

1.  Turn in MC Study Guide 21-30 and get the new one for 31-40.

2.  Add characters to character list and add event to timeline.

3.  Song List Quiz.  Get out a blank sheet of paper.  Prepare to be amazed. 😀

4.  Group work on project.  Assign jobs to people.  Brainstorm songs for specific events.

Objective:  The students will analyze their second fictional story, keeping in mind the TTSTCANDI discussions that we have had.

1.  No quiz today.  Just discuss the chapters MC 11- 12

2.  Close Read "Long Way Home" (You need to add the title to the top (highlight and label too)
   Look for and label (exposition a,b,c, rising action, climax and resolution).  Find the stated UT.  Identify the narrative structure.

3.  Read Monte Cristo Chapter 13
