LOTF Group Teaching

Objective:  The students will teach each other the important information from their assigned chapter.

1.  Group 7 load all of your stuff to computer.

2.  Group Presentation (Today starts the participation aspect...  plus points or minus points.  So phone and ear buds are NOT GOOD!

3,  I will discuss anything missed in the chapters.

4.  Read Chapter 8.  The turning point of the book!

Weekends!!! :)

Objective:  The students will use their time wisely to prepare for presentations.

1.  Discuss Chapter 6.

2.  Read Chapter 7 by Monday.

3.  Get with groups to make sure you are all on the same page....

Objective:  The students will discuss Chapter 5.

Objective:  The students will show knowledge of Lord of the Flies Chapter 4.

4.  Get with Group.  Decide who will do what for your teaching day.  Barinstorm the "something extra part"

LOTF Chapter 3

Objective:  The students will show that they have read and understand Chapter 3 of LOTF.

1.  Get out LOTF Chapter 3 Dialectic

2.  WP

3.  Quiz Chapter 3

4.  Discuss Chapter using Warren's Dialectic

5.  Read Chapter 4.  Complete Dialectic.  This is your last one if EVERYONE DOES IT CORRECTLY.  One Person from a group does not do it... then the whole group does one tomorrow.

LOTF Chapter 3

Objective:  The students will complete their own Dialectic Journal with a MINIMUM of 10 comments.

1.  Turn in your theme poem.  Highlight and label the alliteration, the assonance, the personification and your theme.

2.  Read Chapter 3.  Complete a Dialectic Journal on your own paper.  Due tomorrow.

BOOK REPORT..... BOOK REPORT.... BOOK REPORT!!!!

Objective:  The students will discuss the development of characters and symbols in LotF.

1.  WP #16

2.  No Quiz today.

3.  Discuss Chapter 2.

The Conch Challege

Objective:  The students will compete in the Conch Challenge.

Lord of the Flies

Objective:  The students will discuss the important parts of Chapter 1

Starting our new book

Objective:  The students will know important information to read LOTF.

1.  Staple Vocab and turn in.

2.  Go to library and check out LOTF

3.  LOTF Intro Notes

4.  Read Chapter 1 and complete Dialectic Journal

Time for a poem...

Objective:  The students will analyze a very cool poem.

1.  Get in groups of three or 4.

2.  Follow directions on handout for this activity.

3.  Each one of you need to turn in 1) the close read analyzed poem.  AND 2) a mini poster. 

We will write the poem too.

JC Test

Objective:  The students will PASS!!!

1.  MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THE DIRECTIONS!!!

2.  Take the test.

3.  Pass the test.  You can use all notes.

4.  Scan your answer sheet and write your percentage on the paper.  Bring it to me.

Note:  We start Lord of the Flies on Monday.  If you want to buy it and annotate, it's 100 extra credit points.  Any version of the book works!

JC Test tomorrow so let's review

Objective:  The students will play a game to see if they know what's on tomorrow's test.

1.  Turn in Act V Review.

2.  Get notes out etc...

3.  Warren's Around the Horn

Last Review and Note Packet

Objective:  The students will review the last act of JC.

1.  The test is on Thursday.  It is 100 questions.  It will go into the computer 3 tttimes (300 points).

2.  Organize Note Packet.  Highlight each scene.  There should be 17.

Make sure all blanks are filled in.  If one is left black, the whole scene is not counted.

3.  Complete Review

The last quarter of your sophomore year!

Objective:  The students will complete reading the play.

So did you all finish your book?  Book Report is due on June 6.  No late papers will be read.
