Grab your folders, a LotF book (unless you have one already), and a handout

Turn in your vocab. No corrections

1. Review Final Project

3. Read LotF Ch 1:
All the way up to Pg. 17 "Ralph took the shell away from his lips. 'Gosh!' "

Golding Background Info

Objective: Students will learn about William Golding, the author of Lord of the Flies, that will contribute to their understanding of the text.

1. Review last 4 Vocab words
2. Author Background Presentation and Notes
3. Finish Vocab Chart and Activity, correcting it tomorrow

Finish most MC movie

Objective:

Sit down, relax, and watch the rest of the Monte Cristo movie.

Projects Due

Objective:  The students will evaluate the most recent Hollywood adaptation of Monte Cristo compared to the actual book.

1.  Turn in projects.

Homework:  Go to Volleyball Game at King Saturday at 7 PM.....  Nothing!!!  Relax.

Objective:  The students will know important vocabulary for the first half of Lord of the Flies.

Exam Day

Objective: Students will take their Count of Monte Cristo final exam to demonstrate their understanding of the novel.

1. Everything on the floor except for a pencil.
2. Make sure the name on your bubble sheet is yours.

Bubble each answer in dark, so the scanner can read your answers.

Monte Cristo Jeopardy

Objective: Students will participate in a class-wide Jeopardy game in order to review for their Monte Cristo final

Objective:  The students will discuss the theme of "Catch the Moon" and explain through a discussion how they determined it.

Objective:  The students will complete a short analysis of the short story, "Catch the Moon."

1.  Get your lit books and folders.
2.  Grab a handout from the front desk.
3.  Finish reading the story from page 238, top right column (they had sat down at the table together)
4.  Monte Cristo projects or reading.  You should be at chapter 65 by now.

Please don't wait until the last day to read. 

A "Cute" Story today.... nothing depressing... well kinda.

Objective:  The students will read a pretty good little story about a troubled teen, and they will try to figure out the theme.

Objective:  The students will have a nice, relaxing day and work with imprtant vocabulary for tomorrow's story.

Stump the Teacher Day

Objective:  The students will try to get as much extra credit as they can by asking HARD questions from Chapters 51-60 of Monte Cristo.

1.  Get your folders and put your questions on your desk.
2.  I will come around and see that they are done.  If they aren't, you get to write an essay today.
3.  Very short quiz.  If you pass, you get to play.
4.  Stump the Teacher Activity.
5.  Over the next week, finish reading Monte Cristo.  Final 300 point test next Wednesday and Projects due November 14.  That's a Friday.
