“The Pedestrian”

 

     Ray Bradbury wrote this cautionary tail that shows a society in which people are isolated in there homes instead of being outside.  The story’s setting is an urban city in the year 2053.  The people are so isolated that a loan pedestrian is seen as a threat to social order.  The main character Leonard Mead is stopped and questioned by the police for simply walking down the street.

Objective:  The students will discuss the Clsoe Reading of "The Outliers" piece and start the second piece titled "The Sports Gene."

2.  Get out "Outliers" and let's go through it paragraph by paragraph.  Turn in for grade.

3.  Begin close reading of "The Sports Gene." We will finish it tomorrow.  It is NOT HOMEWORK.

Day 3

Objective:  The students will spend the hour completing the district's requirement for digital citizenship.

2.  Website discussion for homework:  warrenmlk.com   Test on Friday.

3.  Outside Book Discussion:  Anyone have a book picked yet??  

3.  This is a 10 point "participation" activity.  I have to do it.  You have to do it, but you should also get some points for it, so if you "participate," you will get the 10 points.

Tomorrow hopefully we can work on some lit stuff.  Make sure your Outliers is Close Read and Questions done by tomorrow!!!
