OK, Let's try this again. Turn in (your now) perfect Research Paper.

Objective:  The students will be introduced to Julius Caesar (the man) so that we understand the historical context of the play.

1.  Get folders and the THREE handouts.  Vocabulary and timeline.
2.  Take 4 minutes to "match your works cited page to the citations in the paper.  Turn it in.
3.  Julius Caesar Timeline.
4.  Act I vocabulary.
5.  JC Presentation:  First 6 tomorrow.  Be prepared.

Objective: The students will pick a subject that they would like to present as part of the "Listening and Speaking" standards.

1.  Turn in your PERFECT, EDITED, ERROR FREE research paper.

2.  Get the handout for JC Presentations.

3.  Discuss JC (Presentations, Reading, Extra Credit, JC Dress Up Day, etc.)

4.  Complete JC Intro Handout

Homework:  How is that outside book?  We have about a month of JC and then we are reading two class novels, so I would get 'er done!

Last Day of Research Paper Work

Objective:  The students will use this last day to complete any part of the research paper.

1.  Tomorrow you will have a sub.  BRING YOUR YELLOW Junior year Registration paper.  You will be going to the guidance off ice to complete scheduling for next year.  Then you will return to the classroom to work on your first Julius Caesar assignment.

2.  Today, you have the entire period to complete any part of the research paper.  It is your last day to have me to help you.  Use time wisely.  Use the two computers if you need them.  Use your phones or a device that you brought.

3.  Paper is due on Friday.  All parts in one nice, EDITED document.  Part 1 through Works Cited.

Part 3: The Most Important Part of the Paper

Objective:  The students will edit and revise Part 2 and begin writing Part 3.


1.  Get out the printed out Part 2.  Exchange and edit while I give 50 points or NO POINTS.

2.  Get the sample Part 3.  Jot down the brief notes.

3.  Write Part 3.  As you write, you may realize you need to get more information (more sources) in order to prove your thesis. 

4.  Part 3 is due at the end of the period tomorrow.

Finishing Part 2

Objective:  The students will finish Part 2 and get some constructive advice from me by sharing it with me to look at.

1.  Get laptops.
2.  Open your documant and share it with rwarren@rusdlearns.net
3.  Continue writing.  I will open as many papers as I can today to read them over and offer advice, criticism, etc. that will hopefully make your paper stronger.  I may even run one or two through Turnitin.com.

Part 2 is due tomorrow.  50 points or NO POINTS.  Have it printed out BEFORE CLASS!!!

Objective:  The students will peer edit Part 1 of the Research Paper.

1.  Get your laptop and your printed out Part 1.
2.  I will come by and give you points (50 or less) for having it complete and ready to edit.

Objective:  The students will write part 1 of their research paper:  The anecdotal into.

1.  Get a laptop and the sample handout.

2.  Open up your google doc.  Or start a new one if you have not printed your source info.

3.  Discuss intro with me.  Take notes on the sample.

4.  Write Part 1.  It is due tomorrow.  50 points or no points.  That's the way it has to be.  HAVE IT READY to be peer edited.  Printed out.  Ready to be marked up and shared on paper and possibly up here.

Objective:  The students will find more sources of information that they can use to write the paper.  We start writing tomorrow.

1.  Get laptops and continue research.

a)  For Part 2 of the paper:  Background information:  Anything about your subject prior to 2015.

b)  For Part 3 of the paper:  Current information:  Anything about your subject from 2015 which will help you prove your thesis... that ____________________ is the Person/Event/Hero of the year 2015.

2.  Follow these directions to set up your doc.

a)  New Google Doc
b)  Format:  Line Spacing:  Double
c)  Insert:  Header:  Scroll to the right:  Last Name:  Space
d)  Insert:  Page Number
e)  Heading:  Type proper MLA Heading
f)  Title:  Center:  Type the name of your paper.

3.  Research:  Find sources for your paper:
