Presentations Day 1

Objective:  The students will know background info of the play.

1.  Get folders.

2.  Presentations (first group).  Take notes on all topics.  ALL NOTES that you take during this unit CAN BE USED ON THE 300 point final.  And it's hard, so it's smart to take notes.

Objective:  The students will know important facts about Shakespeare and Julius Caesar before we start the play.

Homework:  How is that outside book?  We have about 4 weeks, then we start our novel.

Last Day to Impress Me

Objective:  The students will use this day to edit, make any final changes, do some final research or writing, and double check their citations and works cited page.

1.  Get out your entire paper so that I can check your Part 4 for 50 points.

2.  Give it to your partner for one final edit.  Verify that the Works Cited page matches up with the citations in the essay.  Look for any last minute things that can be made to save the writer points.

3.  This is due on Monday.  Printed.   Must also submit to Turnitin.com


4.  Looking forward to starting Julius Caesar with you all next week.

Almost done!

Objective:  The students will know how to finish their play and compete a Works Cited page.

Discussion:  It is time to address "the elephant in the room."  What is our plan if there is a "fire drill" or some situation on campus?
     a)  If the alarm sounds.  Don't automatically start moving toward the door.
     b)  I will lock the door.  I will go out to see if everything is OK.  If everything looks OK, then we will go out.  BUT, we don't need to rush to be the first to the stairs, quad, or the field.  Heck, we can be last.
     c)  If there is a situation, know what your options are:  hide or fight.  Look for something that will help you if you need to protect yourself:  Bats, Hot water, Fire Extinguisher, etc.

Wednesday Short Day

Objective:  The students will finish writing their Part 3 of the Research Paper.

1.  Get a laptop and do work!  Due tomorrow.  Printed.  50 points or Zero.

Tuesday, February 20, 2018

Ready to move on with the paper.

Objective:  The students will write Part 3 of the paper.  This is the most important part.

1.  Put Part 2 on your desk.  I need to get a score for it today.

2.  Get a sample of Part 3.  Go over it with the teacher.

3.  Use your research sources to write Part 3.  This is what your person did LAST YEAR to be the Person of the Year.

We will work on this today and tomorrow.  It is due for editing on Thursday (and points).

Objective:  The students will peer edit Part 1 and work on Part 2

1.  Peer Edit Part 1

2.  Get Part 2 Example:  Go over and write notes.

3.  Use your research tom complete Part 2.  The background information on your person.

This will be due on Thursday. 

Note:  We will not have computers until next Tuesday.  SO bring a device of be ready to use your phone.

Objective:  The students will write part 1 of their research paper.

1.  Get a chromebook

2.  Get sample part 1.

3.  Write sample part 1

4.  Complete it and bring printed copy for 50 points tomorrow.  This is a one time grade.  If you don't have one to peer edit tomorrow, you will NOT get the 50 points.
