Book Report Issues:

Book Report Specific Issues:
·     Heading (you were taught this on the first day) and Header.
·     Properly punctuate title.
·     Be specific as to type of novel it is:  It is more than just fiction.
·     Follow the format (outline provided).  It will tell you exactly what you need to have in the essay.
·     Setting:  Time and place.  Time can be a specific year or an era (10 years).
·     Characters:  Be sure to tell who the pro and antagonists are.
·     Conflict:  Internal, External, Man vs what:  Then explain.
·     Point of view:  Pick one the three (Third Person is not one)
·     Plot parts:  Don’t limit yourself to 5 sentences.
·     Decision:  Pick ONE.  And fully develop the paragraph.  Here would be a great place for some quotes.
·     Recommendation:  Don’t use First person.
·     Don’t copy the example.
·     Concentrate on what we have learned this year and use this knowledge:  You can discuss plot, characters, theme, symbols, setting, tone, voice, allusions, etc.
