Twelve Angry Men: The Modern Adaptation

Objective:  The students will compare and contrast the play that we read with he modern adaptation  .

1.  Get a piece of paper:  Set it up with two columns (Hotdog).  Label the left, 1954 Version.  Label the right, Modern Version.

2.  Watch the movie and note the differences that you see in the two versions.  You need 25 to get an A.  You don't have to write complete sentences, but they need to be more than one word to be clear.

3.  Tomorrow I want to see your book:  Page 50 for 50 points.

           100 close reading (character page 10 points, end chapter notes 20, highlights/annotations 70)

Objective:  The students will now be able to quiz the teacher on his knowledge of Monte Cristo.

1.  Get your District Writing Test.  And get your scan sheet.  Fill in the appropriate bubbles for all Rubric Scores and the final overall grade.

2.  Give the scan sheet back to me.  If you worked on it at home, please put it in the :Home" folder so that I don't scan them into the data system.
 Grades are converted to points like this:  If there is a minus after the number, it is worth 1 point less.
6=100
5=90
4=80
3=70
2=60
1=50 or less.

3.  Stump the Teacher:  For Chapters 51-60.  Read it by next Friday.  For each chapter, write two questions and answers.  Make them hard!!  Next Friday you get to ask me questions from the chapters, and if I don't know them, you get 5 points of EXTRA CREDIT for each question that I don't know.

But!!!  You will have a quiz before we play.  If you don't pass, you will write an essay instead of playing.

Homework:  Supplies in class by Friday!!!  Folder, dividers, paper. pens, highlighters.

Had a great day yesterday.

Objective:  The students will close read the first of two articles for their essay.

1.  WP #1
2.  School Handbook Discussion
3.  Class Rules Brief (bathroom, phones, food, cheating)
4.  Close Read article number 1 with a purpose:  Identify the author's argument about the effects of destiny in our lives.

HOMEWORK:  Check out my web page:  warrenmlk.com     look at all of the pages (policies, extra credit, contact me, etc) and read the info.  Tomorrow:  10 point quiz on the webpage information.




Well the first day went well, so let's try another one.

Objective:  The students will look at an example of the Prose section of the AP Literature test.
